What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember your actions and preferences across pages and visits.

How we use cookies

The Gadget List uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary: required for core site functionality (session management, security, consent preferences).
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, via Google Site Kit, to understand aggregated visitor behaviour and improve the site.
  • Affiliate tracking: Awin and Yieldkit set cookies when you click an outbound product link, so any purchase can be attributed correctly.
  • Preferences: remembering your cookie-consent choices (via CookieYes).

Managing your preferences

On your first visit, a CookieYes banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your choice. You can reopen that banner at any time to change your preferences.

You can also clear or block cookies entirely via your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we use — primarily Google (Analytics), Awin, Yieldkit, and CookieYes. Those third parties have their own cookie policies, which govern how they use the data collected.

More information

Our Privacy Policy covers data collection more broadly. For cookie-specific questions, email tanya@theiris.io.
